Since its premiere in July, fans have been immersed in the captivating ABC series Claim to Fame. The show, hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, features 12 contestants with celebrity relatives living under the same roof. With a $100,000 prize purse, the group must guess each other’s famous family member or face elimination. “What’s so cool about that is the house they’re in, everything is artistically oriented. That means every picture, every condition, every roller coaster could be a clue to someone’s identity,” Kevin said in an interview with ET.
Eight of the famous neighboring candidates have been eliminated in recent weeks, including sister of Simone Biles, granddaughter of Whoopi Goldberg, sister of Tiffany Haddish, daughter of Al Sharpton, daughter of Brett Favre, twin brother of Laverne Cox, Zendaya’s cousin and Chuck Norris’ grandson, per People. With only four houseguests left, viewers were eager to learn more about their celebrity relatives. However, one of the most difficult candidates for fans to decipher was Pepper. Here’s who we think her celebrity relative is.
Could Dean Martin be Pepper’s grandfather?
Since July, fans of the hit ABC series Claim to Fame have donned their wanted hats to find out which celebs the contestants are related to. With eight of the twelve contestants officially eliminated, viewers have their sights set on the final four. One of the candidates that leaves fans guessing is Pepper. Over the course of the series, the reality star has revealed a number of references to her famous grandparents, including a red pocket square and an “orange-in-ale Rat Pack singer” description to PopSugar.
Using the above clues, some fans have narrowed their guesses down to a few celebrities. One viewer tweeted: “Pepper looks like she’s Ashley Judd’s daughter. Dead Ringer.” Another fan wrote, “Pepper looks just like Dean Martin.” While it’s safe to say Pepper isn’t related to Judd because the actor doesn’t have kids, Martin has been the perfect match ever since. According to Closer Weekly, the late singer-comedian had eight children, which certainly leaves room for possibility.
All signs of Pepper’s parentage point to Dean Martin
After Pepper revealed that her grandparents were a Rat Pack singer, viewers assumed that Dean Martin is her grandfather. The guess isn’t too far-fetched given that he’s had eight children in three marriages. Claim to Fame fans on Twitter also located an article shared on Pepper’s Instagram, which appeared to confirm her identity, before the post was immediately deleted.
In ABC4’s 2021 news, the reality star was interviewed about her Airbnb home in Utah. Aside from the article addressing Pepper as “Pepper Martin,” the piece takes it a step further with a revealing statement. “And the property even has ties to singer, actor and comedian Dean Martin, who vacationed there. (Pepper is the esteemed singer’s granddaughter),” the news outlet noted.
In addition to the news report referenced above, observant viewers have found further evidence of Pepper’s parentage in Ricci Martin’s 2004 book That’s Amore. In the autobiography, the late singer recounted the birth of his daughter, whose name is listed as Pepper Jazz. “At Christmas 1993 we all met for dinner at Mama’s,” he wrote. “Now Annie and I live near Park City, Utah and had just had our first daughter, Pepper Jazz.” Pepper’s Instagram name is pepperjazzz and she gives her full name as Pepper Martin. Isn’t that a kick in the head?
