Before Shereé Whitfield found fame on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the television personality was married to Bob Whitfield for seven years, which ended in the couple’s split in 2007. Although Essence revealed the Whitfields’ divorce was finalized in the first episode of the first season that aired, the on-camera drama between the former couple continued.
In a “RHOA” clip, Shereé asked Bob in frustration, “Where’s my child support?” She then explained, “Bob hasn’t paid child support in almost four years.” There was then talk of how Bob pays his bills, to which he replied, “The NFL. I’ve played for many years, girl.”
Since then, the drama between the two seems to have smoothed out. Last July, Shereé Bob shared an update on her status on Watch What Happens Live (via Bravo), saying, “It’s great. He called me the other day and said he had a dream for me.” While Shereé pursues her own romantic dream with current boyfriend Martell Holt, Bob appears to be focused on his career. Let’s catch up on the reality star’s ex-husband’s current and previous professional activities.
Bob Whitfield is an athlete turned sports agent
Bob Whitfield is a former NFL player who played for the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Giants, according to Pro Football History. He officially retired in 2007 from Reality Titbit. And according to Celebrity Net Worth, he’s raised an impressive $12 million. The accomplished football player has also been inducted into Stanford University’s Hall of Fame, which called him “one of the greatest tackles in the school’s history.” Whitfield later returned to Stanford and received his 2013 diploma from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
After a successful football career, the NFL star founded WHITFIELD | FOOTBALL, a sports agency for professional athletes that offers business expertise, brand strategy and career coaching on the company’s website. He’s also a full-time sports agent for the company, according to Whitfield’s LinkedIn page. He is clearly committed to this position, as stated in his About Me section: “I am deeply rooted in my passion for maximizing the talents of artists and athletes for long careers and optimal performance.”
Bob Whitfield is the founder of a recording studio
Bob Whitfield has also worked in the entertainment industry. In 1994, Whitfield founded Patchwerk Recording Studios in Atlanta. The facility’s purpose and goals are summed up in a statement on the website, in which Whitfield states, “The studio is a tremendous asset as it helps us fulfill our mission of consistently having the most refreshing and innovative producers, writers and writers.” It’s a hotspot for big artists like Monica, Beyoncé, Snoop Dogg and Nick Jonas. Whitfield no longer owns the company, so the extent of his current involvement with the studios is unspecified.
In 2016, Whitfield spoke to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about his connection to music, explaining, “I wasn’t in LA and it was really a labor of love. When I was young, I acted in several talent shows and breakdance We built the Motown of the South.” In 2018, he posted an Instagram photo of a throwback to his days at the original Patchwerk Recording Studios.
So what else is the music mogul up to? In an Instagram photo, Whitfield looks serious and focused next to a whiteboard, appearing to be strategizing for a football game. “Mask up for the Playas…next batch of NFL hitters in a city near you! Represent the best!!!” He captioned the picture. Whether he’s preparing for sports games or reflecting on his accomplishments in the music industry, Whitfield seems to be living his best life.
