What really happened between Natasha and Dave on Under Deck Med?

Season 7 of Below Deck Mediterranean hit screens on July 11th. This time fans were treated to a cruise on the crystal clear and turquoise seas around the picturesque island of Malta. The cast of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 included a number of new crew members. But while they were fresh faces, they still made an unforgettable impression, especially Chief Stew Natasha Webb and Chef Dave White.

Per Bravo, Captain Sandy Yawn’s aim was “to ensure smooth sailing this year”. However, thanks to the drama between Natasha and Dave, all hopes soon went out of the porthole. The two crew members had previously worked together and were friends when they boarded the 163-foot yacht Home, but it wasn’t long before they went from friend to foe after she denied they were in a relationship .

There was a ton of scandalous relationship drama on Below Deck, it’s one of the (many) things that fans love about the show. However, what happened between Dave and Natasha was more duplicity than drama. She persistently downplayed what had happened between them in the past, insisting it was only casual connections. Natasha’s gaslighting made Dave look like a mad fanatic and resulted in him firing off a barrage of angry messages. It also nearly resulted in him walking the plank into unemployment until Natasha unexpectedly showed up and asserted his case, causing fans to scratch their heads. So what really happened between Natasha and Dave on Below Deck Med?

Natasha regrets her treatment of Dave

Like vacation romances, boatmances rarely last longer than the couple’s tan. That’s definitely true on Below Deck Mediterranean, where it gets hot and muggy on the high seas and then freezing back on land. It’s a lesson Dave White had to learn the hard way during the seventh season of the hit Bravo show in front of millions of viewers. The chef almost lost his job after firing off a barrage of angry messages to Chief Stew Natasha Webb. Additionally, #TextGate caused a storm on board as the waves of drama engulfed the crew.

Natasha finally admitted what was really going on between the two and the role she had to play in the unfortunate incident. She admitted that despite her previous rejections, Dave had been more than just a casual connection and that he hadn’t exaggerated or deluded himself that they were dating.

“I didn’t want everyone to judge us based on the situation,” Natasha told E! about why she decided to keep her past romance a secret. She said she texted Dave about it while he was vocal about her situation, which caused many people to see her in an unfavorable light. Natasha admitted she should have been “more open and honest” about things and that she regretted her choices and behavior. “We all make mistakes in life,” she said. “Unfortunately, that was just one of the things I had to go through.”

Dave has put the Natasha drama behind him

Natasha Webb’s repeated denials of what really happened between her and Dave White in the past caused him to lose his calm and send her a series of angry messages. Natasha told E! that she regretted acting this way and keeping their previous relationship a secret. And it turns out Dave has his regrets too. During an exclusive interview with Up and Adam, he said the pressure of working as a chef on a superyacht is even worse when you add in reality TV cameras. “I was like a cauldron about to explode,” admitted Dave.

He said trying to cover up his relationship with Natasha didn’t help the situation. “Honestly, it ate me alive for lying about it,” he shared. However, Dave said he regrets venting his anger in the texts he sent and insisted he had no bad feelings towards Natasha about what happened. “Honestly, I’m glad I met Tash,” said Dave. “Because I still think she’s a great person no matter what happens there.”

He has now put the past theatrics behind him and moved on in life. Dave volunteered his services for a chefs’ charity mission in Ukraine. He said the experience was “humbling” and that he hoped the war would end soon. “To [firsthand] testify to the courage of the Ukrainian people to oppose it [bullies] and just get on with theirs [lives] is really incredible and inspiring,” he posted on Instagram.
