It’s likely that fans of “Selling Sunset” may know Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim earlier. In Season 3, Episode 4 of the series, the girls in the office begin to realize that Oppenheim may prefer Fitzgerald since he gives her all the big and important lists. In the aftermath, Fitzgerald becomes frustrated as she feels the favoritism is discrediting her hard work.
“Jason and I have been friends for probably 15 years,” Fitzgerald says in the episode. “We were together for maybe a year. These girls try to take all my success and hard work away from me by saying, ‘Oh, that’s because they dated.’ no I worked my ass off and I worked for it.”
However, it did not work out with the two real estate agents. Fitzgerald later married model and project manager Romain Bonnet. Their wedding was featured in the season 2 finale of “Selling Sunset,” and Fitzgerald actually sells the house where their wedding took place. Though Fitzgerald and Oppenheim are no longer together, they often call each other “babe,” showing that exes can be friendly to one another.
Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim dated for at least six months
Mary Fitzgerald, Jason Oppenheim and Amanza Smith go back a long way. According to the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, Smith told host David Yontef in a 2020 episode that she was separately friends with Fitzgerald and Oppenheim, and introduced the two to their rooftop barbecue. Before long, Fitzgerald and Oppenheim would get along and start dating.
In Season 1, Episode 3 of “Selling Sunset,” Chrishell Stause asked Fitzgerald and Oppenheim how long they had been together during Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet’s engagement dinner. “It depends if you factor in the separation period, but around six months to a year,” Oppenheim replied. “We had a longer phase,” Fitzgerald continued. “We broke up, but we’re still together.”
After the two officially split, Fitzgerald and Oppenheim remained best friends. Oppenheim told Good Housekeeping that he “would prefer to work with him [his] best friend every day of the week.” He notes how Fitzgerald’s ambition and dedication have impressed him over the years. He added that he is “her biggest supporter and biggest fan.” Fitzgerald would then have been Oppenheim’s biggest supporter when he started dating Chrishell Stause.
Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim are close friends
In the first episode of the fifth season of “Selling Sunset,” it was revealed that Jason Oppenheim started dating another girl at the office – Chrishell Stause. Fitzgerald, who has a strong friendship with Stause, was one of the first to find out about the new relationship as she has been involved in keeping it a bit of a secret.
“I couldn’t be more excited for her!” Fitzgerald told People in 2021. “They’re both two of my closest and dearest friends, so I’m beyond thrilled that they’re together and making each other so happy. Now Romain and I have our closest friends as a couple that we can double date with! I’m excited!”
Fitzgerald, the supportive friend that she is, spoke to Oppenheim after he and Stause broke up, as revealed in the Season 5 reunion episode of “Selling Sunset.” Fitzgerald later opened up about the breakup, saying that “it wasn’t fun,” but both she and Romain are “there for each other,” they “love them both,” and they “just want them to be happy.” per Spiegel. We hope Fitzgerald and Oppenheim’s friendship continues to grow, and we hope to see many more friendship quiz videos from them.
