Tom Brady is an incredibly accomplished quarterback, so it’s no wonder he’s constantly in the news. Lately, however, most of the headlines have focused on his flip-flops in his career and his marital troubles. As the NFL recaps, Brady made the startling decision to retire after 22 seasons as a professional footballer. The 45-year-old tweeted he had “unfinished business” and was planning a return.
His decision was particularly shocking considering why he initially declared retirement. He told ESPN that he has responsibilities “off the field,” including his family. He also acknowledged that his wife did “an amazing job” in taking on most of the family responsibilities.
The fact that Brady changed his mind just forty days later provoked many violent reactions and jokes from football fans. One quipped, “Tom Brady spent 2 months with his kids and wasn’t retired.” Now his wife seems to have had her say.
Tom Brady is struggling to balance his work and personal life
Page Six has reported that Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen have been in quite the argument. They noted that the model has left the family home and retired to Costa Rica. According to a source, the dispute came after Brady’s decision not to retire. “They agreed that he would retire to focus on family, then he changed his mind.”
Brady recently spoke about the challenges of marriage on his podcast. He shared that he’s struggled with his desire to “maximize” both his career and personal life, which are often at odds with one another. While he shared that he never wants to “cheat” fans out of his best efforts, it seems those victories come from sacrifices made at home. “I have a freshman in high school who also plays soccer. I have a 12 year old going through his life. I have a 9 year old going through his life. And I have parents. “
Luckily, it seems Brady’s parents could have offered some wise advice. “I was talking to my dad the other day,” the star shared. “He said, ‘All you can do is the best you can do under the circumstances that are thrown at you.'” The Page Six source noted that Brady and Bundchen have fought before, but am have always reunited in the end.
