Todd Chrisley gets even more bad news amid his legal woes

Todd and Julie Chrisley find themselves in the midst of a tumultuous legal journey as the couple were recently found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion. Julie was also convicted on a separate charge of wire fraud under the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The couple, who starred in the hit US show Chrisley Knows Best, have been accused of creating false documents to obtain fraudulent $30 million in bank loans. The family’s alleged criminal behavior reportedly began long before they became public figures.

The conviction comes more than two years after the reality stars were indicted by a federal grand jury on financial crimes charges. At the time, Chrisley’s attorneys – Bruce H. Morris and Stephen Friedberg – admittedly denied the allegations. “The allegations contained in the indictment are based on utter untruths. The Chrisleys are innocent of all charges,” they told People in 2019. And while Todd and Julie have vowed to fight the verdict, the backlash over their convictions has just gotten worse.

Todd Chrisley has been dropped from a brand partnership

Todd Chrisley is expected to return to court in October for a conviction in his tax evasion case, but the reality star has just had more bad news amid his ongoing legal woes. According to Us Weekly, Tinley Beverage Company Inc. – which owns Beckett’s Spirits – has abandoned its brand ambassador deal with Chrisley. In a press release provided to the outlet, the beverage maker emphasized that it had “quit and terminated” its partnership with the reality star. As part of the deal, Chrisley worked with the company, which makes non-alcoholic cocktails, on advertising campaigns and even a range of specialized products.

And as the fallout from Chrisley’s conviction continues, the couple have reportedly hired new attorneys to spearhead their appeal. Radar Online reports that the couple “engaged additional lawyers” and have since asked the judge to grant an extension to his new legal team while they prepare to file for a new trial.

For fans wondering what will happen to the family’s popular US series, the network plans to air the reality show’s ninth season in full. However, sources close to the family revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the scenes in the upcoming season of Chrisley Knows Best were filmed before the trial began.
