Tiffany Haddish has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after legal documents surfaced alleging some seriously troubling allegations against her. Haddish doesn’t exactly have the cleanest history when it comes to the law, as she was accused of driving under the influence in January after police received reports of a driver who appeared to have fallen asleep at the wheel, according to Deadline. The star reportedly refused to have her breath tested and was arrested, with TMZ claiming police suspect she may have smoked marijuana.
Haddish took all the legal drama and even joked about the incident later that month on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man, a good man. And God went ahead and sent me four in uniform. I wasn’t expecting it,” she quipped after her split from Common. The Solar Opposites star then shared an update on the incident, explaining that she worked it all out with her attorney before joking, “I need to ask my questions of God a little better.”
But it turns out Haddish’s legal troubles in 2022 had only started in January.
Tiffany Haddish is being sued over molestation allegations
On August 30, Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears were named in a shocking lawsuit by a brother and sister who claim they were groomed and molested by the pair when they were children. The sister claimed, per TMZ, that Haddish tricked her into starring in an inappropriately suggestive video when she was a young teenager, while the complainant’s brother claimed both Spears and Haddish molested him while he was making a Funny or Die video filmed (which Funny or Die has denied). Participation in). Haddish was apparently a close friend of the plaintiff’s mother for a time.
But Haddish’s lawyer hits back. He claimed to People that the plaintiff’s mother had allegedly been pursuing the claims for years, noting, “Every attorney who originally took her case – and there were several – eventually dropped the matter when it became clear that the Claims were unfounded and Ms . Haddish would not be shaken.”
The siblings and their mother spoke at length to Daily Beast about what allegedly happened to Haddish and Spears, with the mother telling the outlet of her alleged former friend: “I wanted to [Tiffany] to see her mistake and I wanted her to do the right thing in terms of helping with therapy and with the kids and stuff. But the way she just transported us to real Hollywood. This wasn’t the same friend that had been a friend of mine.”
