The truth about Sharon Osbourne’s natural hair color

From hair transformations to facelifts, Hollywood’s elite keep us on our toes when it comes to their grooming, and Sharon Osbourne is no exception. The Hollywood personality has taken our screens on some fan-favorite shows like America’s Got Talent, The X-Factor (UK), The Osbournes and most recently The Talk.

The outspoken reality TV star has never been afraid to be loud and share opinions, and when it comes to her signature, that’s remained constant. The former TV show host is widely known for her fiery red locks and pixie cut, which has kept her style for most of her airtime. Believe it or not, the stylish British personality didn’t always sport the same tresses as she does today.

In fact, after almost two decades, Osbourne pulled off the surprising hair transformation that no one saw coming with a little help from a certain renowned colorist, according to Page Six. Here are the facts behind her hair’s true shade!

Sharon Osbourne went au naturel

Sharon Osbourne took the plunge and said goodbye to the dyes and went (temporarily) au naturel. In May 2020, the star admitted she first saw gray hair when she was in her 20s, according to People. The British personality shared that she was fed up with maintaining her deep red tresses. “I was just so sick of going and having it dyed and dyed and I just thought I can’t do this anymore,” Osbourne wrote on Instagram in February 2020.

The transformation was performed shortly after the massive hair transformation, which lasted eight hours together with the famous colorist Jack Martin. “Sharon has 100% white hair and she has been dying her hair a dark bright red once a week for the past 18 years,” Martin explained on social media in February 2020. “Sharon was very tired of dying her hair once a week and was obliged to as she is on TV almost every day hosting her popular TV show @thetalkcbs. I didn’t promise Sharon anything, but I told her I’d do my best.”

“I can call you silver fox now!” said her former co-star Sheryl Underwood as a transformed Osbourne took a seat at The Talk table. When asked about her husband, Ozzy Osbourne replied, “He says the devil wears Prada!” she joked. Change is good, but this is one change that Sharon Osbourne didn’t have long to pull through.

Which color does Sharon Osbourne prefer?

Though Sharon Osbourne admitted maintaining her signature red tresses was a time commitment, she couldn’t stay away for long. After all, the star has been rocking this shade for quite some time.

Just after her 68th birthday, the TV personality took the stage with her curly red hair! In the short clip shared to Instagram in October 2020, she also hinted that the silver fox look made her feel and look older. “I don’t know, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘No, you look like Grandma Clampett,'” she joked on the episode of The Talk, referring to Irene Ryan’s character from ” The Beverly Hillbillies.” “No, I’m changing it back and I have.” After seeing the change, her fans took to the comments section to offer their support and approval for her return to red. “So happy to see for blushing again. It really suits you and is such a flattering color on you,” gushed one fan.

Her now-iconic color was originally a happy accident, she says. “I have naturally auburn hair, and it’s only gotten redder over the years,” she shared with People in May 2020. She went on to say that to maintain the vibrant hue, she has to have it on Colorful Every Week. While the signature hue was a nuisance, a few things seem worth the trouble.
