Chris Rock’s name has made headlines over the years for a variety of reasons.
Of course, it was the worldwide slap at the Oscars that got him the most recent attention. While Will Smith reportedly still hasn’t apologized to Rock for walking across the stage and punching him in the face at the 2022 Oscars, the drama surrounding the news has subsided for now. However, in recent years there has also been a lot of fuss about the truth surrounding Rock and his failed marriage. The comedian was married to Malaak Compton-Rock, but the details of their split were definitely messy. They pulled the plug on their marriage in 2016, with Rock even admitting to being unfaithful to his wife. During his Netflix special Chris Rock: Tamborine, he confessed (via Us Weekly), “It’s my fault because I’m fucking asshole. I did not listen. i wasn’t nice I had an attitude.”
Despite all the drama surrounding Rock’s career, it seems he’s managed to drown out the noise and move on in life. In fact, there are new reports suggesting that Rock and actor-director Lake Bell could be getting very close these days.
Chris Rock and Lake Bell’s dating rumors are heating up
It looks like Chris Rock really, really wants to move on from the Oscar swatter and everything else that’s been going on in his life. According to Page Six, the comedian was spotted having dinner with Lake Bell in California on July 2. The duo spent the evening at Santa Monica hotspot Giorgio Baldi. Apparently, Rock and Bell looked like they were more than just friends as they also held hands after their dinner. As if that wasn’t enough, TMZ also spotted the possible new celebrity couple having lunch at Coast Restaurant on July 4, which isn’t too far from where they ate the night before.
Apparently, Rock and Bell make no secret of the fact that they certainly enjoy each other’s company. Whether things get serious between the two remains to be seen. However, Rock told Rolling Stone in 2017 that marriage is something he would never consider again. When asked about it, he replied, “Not if it would cure AIDS.”
