NeNe Leakes pays public tribute to her late husband Gregg Leakes. NeNe and Gregg first married in 1997 and later split in 2010, per Us Weekly. After their divorce was finalized and the couple separated just a few years, the two reconnected and tied the knot again in 2013. After her second marriage, Gregg was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2018. Gregg was in remission for a post-treatment period, but in June 2021, NeNe announced his cancer had returned.
In September 2021, People reported that Gregg had sadly died of colon cancer at the age of 66. The Leakes’ publicist Ernest Dukes confirmed this in a statement, urging the public to “pray for peace and strength for their families and to allow them to grieve in private at this very, very difficult time.” NeNe spoke later in this one month with People and revealed Gregg’s children and close friends were all by his side in the days leading up to his death.[sitting] with him 24/7.” NeNe said, “We talked a lot and made peace with what happened.” Now the Real Housewives of Atlanta star is commemorating the life of her husband.

NeNe took to her Instagram story (via People) to honor Gregg by posting numerous videos of herself and Gregg playfully dancing together. Alongside a video clip, she wrote: “1 year in heaven today! We love you and miss you sooooooooo much.” The celebrity also shared several pictures of herself and Gregg, including a picture of the couple at their wedding and a photo of the two holding hands.
This tribute comes after NeNe’s recent birthday message to Gregg, which she shared on August 16th. For the birthday post, she shared a photo of herself and Gregg posing for the camera on Instagram. “I miss the man who always had a plan!” Ne Ne wrote. “Today is a very special one…every year we would be out on this day to celebrate you! I can’t believe we’re wishing you a heavenly birthday today. She has also made social media posts to commemorate Gregg’s legacy on other occasions, including Father’s Day and her first Sunday without Gregg. In the weeks after Gregg’s death, NeNe said on her Instagram Story (via ET) that she has “good days and bad days” and “gets through it.” She also shared her gratitude for “all the condolences and all the sweet comments” from fans.
