Sylvester Stallone’s divorce is getting more and more messy

After 25 years, one of Hollywood’s longest marriages ended on August 24 when Jennifer Flavin filed for divorce from Sylvester Stallone. In her filing, obtained from Page Six, Flavin claimed that Stallone was “involved in the willful squandering, depletion, and/or squandering of marital assets” and called their marriage “irretrievably fractured.”

Although most were surprised by this news, there were possible signs pointing to the split. A few days before Flavin filed for divorce, Stallone was spotted on social media with fresh ink raising eyebrows, per BuzzFeed. Apparently, Stallone recently covered up a large bicep tattoo of his future ex-wife featuring one of his late dogs, Butkus. Surprisingly, that wasn’t the only dog-centric rumor surrounding the split. As TMZ reported, sources close to the Stallones claimed that the dissolution of their relationship began with Stallone adopting his rottweiler, Dwight, without Flavin’s consent. A dispute sparked a conflagration between the ex-couple, the sources claimed. However, Stallone denied that claim to TMZ, insisting, “We didn’t end the relationship on such a trivial argument.”

Although the real reasons behind the couple’s divorce may remain unclear for a while, Stallone has made it clear he won’t take Flavin’s allegations.

Sylvester Stallone speaks out against claims made by Jennifer Flavin

Sylvester Stallone dismissed Jennifer Flavin’s claims about him in her divorce filing in August. In his legal team’s response to their filing, as seen by People, they stated that Stallone “was not involved in any of the “willful squandering, depletion, and/or squandering of marital assets” that Flavin cited as the reason for the divorce. According to Flavin, Stallone’s alleged behavior caused “an adverse economic impact on the family holdings”.

Additionally, the Expendables star’s response also denied Flavin’s request for “exclusive use” of her Palm Beach home. He did, however, sign off on Flavin’s motion for the court to “reduce” the cost of her legal fees, stating that he would pay her costs. Sly also agreed in his response that Flavin legally restored her maiden name.

Despite the uncomfortable aspects of his divorce drama, Stallone seems determined to see the bright side in life. On Aug. 28, the legendary actor shared a heartwarming photo carousel on Instagram to celebrate daughter Sophia’s birthday. From family selfies to graduation photos, Stallone included Flavin in many of the uploaded shots. Commendably, it looks like the ex-couple are keeping this divorce as stylish as possible!
