Shanna Moakler, former Miss USA and Travis Barker’s ex-wife, has been dating actor and poker player Matthew Rondeau since 2020, according to the Daily Mail. The couple’s relationship has been turbulent for the past two years. The duo deleted photos of each other on social media last summer. Rondeau confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July 2021 that he had broken off the relationship with the former “Big Brother” star.
“I broke up with Shanna months ago,” he said. “It’s disappointing that things didn’t work out between the two of us, but sometimes love isn’t enough… Making that decision to move on and go our separate ways wasn’t easy, but I know it was the right decision.” And overall beneficial for both of us.”
Despite the drama, the couple reconciled and got back together in October 2021. Rondeau told Page Six that at the time of their split, they were both dealing with individual personal issues that made it difficult to focus on their romance. It seemed their relationship was going in the right direction, but things took a turn for the worst in February.
Matthew Rondeau has been charged with domestic violence
Shanna Moakler and Matthew Rondeau got into a heated argument in February 2022, according to TMZ, when things got physical. Rondeau was arrested for domestic violence after she allegedly hit her after she was accused of trying to cheat on her. Moakler reportedly ended things before revealing she was pregnant with Rondeau’s child (via TMZ). In March, the two sought couples counseling from Dr. Drew to mend their relationship. It was unclear if they would get back together at the time, but it was later revealed that they repaired their romance. Now, months after his arrest and the duo’s reunion, Rondeau has been charged with assault, vandalism and domestic violence, according to Page Six.
Despite the allegations and the drama, Moakler stands by her boyfriend. She recently told TMZ, “I’m not filing any charges, I hope the prosecutor respects my wishes and drops everything,” she continued, “I will support Matthew 100%. It’s disrupted our lives enough.” Rondeau has remained fairly calm after the incident. However, he only told TMZ, “I haven’t even spoken or commented because I’m so saddened and disgusted by the narrative that the media has portrayed me as.”
This month, Rondeau and Moakler enjoyed a romantic getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, according to photos from the Daily Mail. Even after all the legal hassles, Moakler and Rondeau seem to continue to stand by each other’s sides.
