RHOBH alum Teddi Mellencamp offers a disturbing update on the cancer diagnosis

Teddi Mellencamp has given fans a shocking new update regarding her melanoma diagnosis. If you’ve seen The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, you’ve probably heard of the lifestyle personality. Throughout her time on the series and long after, Mellencamp has remained an open book about her life, including her health scares. In March, the host of the Two T’s In A Pod podcast announced that a mole on her back had been surgically removed. “This is a reminder, please go to your annual skin exams. I had avoided mine [because] for a long time in fear,” she wrote on Instagram.

The former Beverly Hills housewife went on to say Kyle Richards noticed an abnormal birthmark and took her to the doctor, who said it looked like melanoma. After receiving the scary diagnosis, the reality star underwent a “big move.” However, on October 12, the TV personality shocked fans when she revealed she had stage 2 melanoma after attending a follow-up appointment. “Despite my anxiety, I listened to the doctors and went for my 3 month skin check…I got the call this morning: stage 2 melanoma,” she wrote on Instagram. Now it looks like Mellencamp has provided another disturbing update regarding her skin diagnosis.

Teddi Mellecamp announced that she is undergoing another operation

After Teddi Mellencamp was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in early October, the abnormal mole was scheduled to be removed on October 18. However, in an Instagram post, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed that this has been postponed due to more melanomas being found. “With so much melanoma in one area, they’re worried about cutting in there and trying to remove it because they’re not sure what they’re going to cut into,” she explained. The reality TV star went on to say that despite the roadblock, she and her doctors came up with a new plan – which included a positron emission tomography (PET) scan to see how far the cancer had spread. “Once you understand the disease better, the next step is to talk about your treatment,” she added.

In a subsequent social media post, Mellencamp revealed the results of her PET scan and said doctors believe she is “predisposed to melanoma.” She explained: “I will need surgery with a wide incision and node mapping. A sentinel lymphnoid biopsy will also be performed during the surgery.” Towards the end of her post, the TV personality revealed that her surgery was scheduled for October 25. In addition to the procedure, she will also meet with a geneticist to try and get a BRCA2 mutation. “Thank you for the love and support. Please get checked out,” she wrote.
