Ever since the Kardashian clan bid farewell to E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians and moved to the sunnier climes of Hulu’s The Kardashians, fans have been wondering one thing; When is Pete Davidson finally showing up? Well, it seemed like fans were finally getting the answers to their Kardashian prayers in July, when the former ‘Saturday Night Live’ star popped up in a season 2 trailer. In the teaser, Kim Kardashian and Davidson had a rather flirtatious exchange as he caused quite a stir (probably literally) in the Kardashian world when she invited him to take a shower with her before leading him into the bathroom. Cheeky!
But the highly-anticipated performance came under some bittersweet circumstances, as the trailer was released just days before Kardashian and Davidson ended. womp E! News confirmed the split, citing an insider who revealed that the two’s busy schedules were just making things too difficult. However, it sounds like things ended on pretty good terms, as the inside source claimed they still have “a lot of love and respect for each other.”
So now that we know Davidson is definitely in Season 2 of The Kardashians, how much sycophancy do we have to be about his airtime now that the golden couple have gone their separate ways? Not much, it sounds like that.
How much is Pete Davidson in Season 2 of The Kardashians?
Though Pete Davidson made quite the appearance in The Kardashians season 2 trailer, Page Six reports that fans shouldn’t expect lengthy conversations between Kim Kardashian and her now-ex since he barely appears in the new episodes. “He’s in the background, but the real world isn’t built for the likes of Pete,” a source said, adding that Davidson likes to keep his personal life that way.
The news that Davidson won’t be appearing much on the show came a few weeks after The Kardashians executive producer Danielle King admitted to Deadline’s Crew Call that Kardashian had never pressured her now-ex to film with her, and it was very much up to the comedian how involved he wanted to be. “If [the significant others] want to join in the fun, more power for them; We’re happy to cover that,” King shared, adding, “[Davidson is] a high profile person, he is an actor; like Kim said, when the cameras roll for him, that means performance time.”
That comes after Kardashian teased a possible Davidson cameo on Variety in March, when she clarified that she hadn’t filmed with her now-former boyfriend at the time, but wasn’t against the idea. “It’s just not what he’s doing. But if an event happened and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to go away,” she shared, before teasing the Season 2 appearance that we now know came to fruition.
