Since the series premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010, Kim and Kyle Richards have frequently mentioned their Hilton connection. As sisters to Kathy Hilton and aunts to niece Paris, it effectively added to the series’ glamor when the show was still a newcomer to the franchise. Aside from a few cameos, however, Kathy and Paris appeared in the background for more than a decade to carve out their own claim to reality fame for the Richards sisters.
That all changed in season 11 of “RHOBH,” however, when Kathy joined the show in a recurring capacity as the housewives’ “friend.” While not an official diamond bearer, she has appeared at most group events throughout seasons 11 and 12, often serving as whimsical comic relief. However, midway through Season 12, Kathy has finally found herself at the center of the drama that RHOBH is known for. After first poking fun at the questionable name of Dorit Kemsley’s favorite charity (it’s Homeless, not Toothless), she’s also begun feuding with Sister Kyle and other housewives on the heavily teased cast trip to Aspen. It wouldn’t be the first time the Richards-Hilton clan fought on the show: back in Season 5, Kim Kyle said during a fight that “Kathy would have my back like a real sister.” However, Kathy herself has never been involved .
Following the September 7 episode of “RHOBH,” Kathy’s daughter Paris Hilton speaks publicly about her aunt Kyle’s treatment of her mother.
Paris Hilton calls Kyle Richards ‘rude’
Like many viewers, Paris Hilton wasn’t too impressed with Aunt Kyle Richards’ behavior on the final episode of “RHOBH.” After Paris’ mother, Kathy, offered to let the ladies try a line of tequila that she and her family had invested in, Richards and her colleagues quickly closed it. When Richards ignored her sister, Erika Jayne claimed, “No, the last time I was on tequila, I cursed Garcelle’s son!” Lisa Rinna also turned down Kathy’s offer.
Social media response was swift, with one fan saying: “I can’t believe Kathy has been laughed at and taunted for launching a tequila line. This cast is evil and ugly.” Another replied, “She was so cute, so excited to show the ladies the tequila … and then Kyle just taunts her / none of them even acted the slightest bit interested. It was so sad to watch.” Though she usually refrains from commenting on her family’s “RHOBH” drama, Paris did, for once, reply. In a quote tweet, she said, “So rude,” accompanied by a sad face emoji.
Fans previously speculated that Paris had an ax to grind with Richards after she posted a picture of her “faves” on the show, which didn’t include her aunt. Prior to Paris’ tweet about the final episode, it was also noted that she liked a tweet about Richard’s husband, Mauricio Umansky. With the “RHOBH” reunion set to be filmed any day now, Paris’ reaction could be on the agenda.
