North West’s latest plea to mom Kim Kardashian is all too understandable

The eldest of Kim Kardashian’s four children with Kanye “Ye” West, North West also has the most public presence on social media. As of Thanksgiving 2021, the 9-year-old started a TikTok with her famous mom under the biography “managed by an adult,” likely a nod to COPPA regulations tied to children’s internet use. The @kimandnorth account currently has 7.2 million followers and counting. It’s safe to say that KarJenner fans can’t get enough of the mother-daughter duo’s lip-syncing videos and wholesome dance moves!

But at least one person wasn’t thrilled with North’s healthy foray into social media: her dad. In January, the “Donda” rapper spoke to Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee and said, “Don’t let my daughter wear lipstick on TikTok — or her on TikTok at all — unless I’m there to agree to that.” He added that North’s report “was made without my knowledge” and that by doing so, his ex-wife “poked the bear and tried to piss me off and create this ‘crazy’ narrative”. that North is “against” on TikTok [his] want” (via ET), which prompted Kardashian to hit back with a statement of her own. The Skims founder defended her actions, noting that she simply wished North would express her creativity in a safe medium. But despite her enthusiasm for all things social media, it seems even North has moments when she desires privacy – as revealed in a recent Instagram video uploaded by her mum.

North West just wants her mom to stop

On TikTok, North West often bangs for the camera, but on Aug. 18, she ducked the camera. In a clip posted to Instagram, Kim Kardashian, North West and Penelope Disick could be seen jamming in the car to Bruno Mars’ “Versace on the Floor.” While North initially seemed to lip sync, she changed her tune — literally — when Kardashian panned the camera to her. “Mom! Mom, please delete that!” she begged while her mother laughed from the passenger seat.

This isn’t the first time North has asked people to just “stop,” perhaps to protect their privacy. In July, Kardashian and her daughter attended Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture runway show, and North’s presence made headlines for unexpected reasons. Per Page Six, she held up a sign urging photographers to “stop” taking pictures of her — and, of course, Kardashian documented the moment on Instagram. “[North] wanted them to just focus on the show,” the reality star wrote.

North isn’t above trolling her mom, either. Who could forget when North Kardashian called for using a different voice on social media? Or when North revealed that her mother “never” hears about Olivia Rodrigo’s “driver’s license,” despite Kardashian’s claims to the contrary? One thing’s for sure: there’s never a dull moment when Kardashian and North are around.
