Miranda Lambert reflects on tough times after split from Blake Shelton

Like many Hollywood marriages, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s have not stood the test of time. Although the couple was undoubtedly one of the hottest couples in country music, it wasn’t the recipe for making the marriage last. According to InTouch, the couple married in 2011 after several years of dating. Unfortunately, they announced their divorce in 2016. “This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately,” they said in a statement to E! News.

Of course, both parties have continued their love lives. Shelton married singer Gwen Stefani while Lambert married famed police officer Brendan McLoughlin. However, that doesn’t stop the former duo from talking about each other every now and then. Though comments are few, Lambert touched on her breakup with Shelton in a March interview with CBS News (via E! News), when she shared how hard it was for the tabloids to see their divorce. “I wasn’t prepared for that,” the singer noted. “I don’t think that’s anyone. And it’s not pretty at times, but I think you have to take it with a grain of salt.” However, Lambert also said that on the plus side, she’s a singer-songwriter, so she can always tell her side of the story through music.

Now the singer tells a little more about her life after the breakup.

Miranda Lambert puts a positive spin on Blake Shelton’s split

Miranda Lambert opens up about the tough times she’s had after splitting from Blake Shelton. In an interview with People, Lambert touched on her life after the highly publicized divorce, and it’s safe to say she’s bringing a positive spin to such a difficult time, even though she thought it wasn’t always easy. Lambert shared that at age 30 (after the divorce), she took her life in a “new direction” and began to “understand” herself better. “Obviously, when you go through tough things, you get to know each other better,” she confessed to the outlet. “When you’ve broken down pretty well, you look in the mirror and you’re like, ‘I need to spend some time with myself, learn who I am and what I want.’ I got into a really good place with myself. Then I met my husband.” What a great way to look at it!

Lambert and her now-husband, Brendan McLoughlin, appear to be happily married and, in most cases, are making headlines for positive reasons. The couple regularly sings to each other. In an interview with CBS Sunday morning, Lambert spoke about her marriage to McLoughlin and how he helped inspire her music. “It’s like some kind of Hallmark movie or something!” Lambert told the outlet about her meeting with McLoughlin. “This redneck from Texas meets this beautiful NYPD officer on the street in New York. But it actually happened that way.” McLoughlin is also the inspiration for Lambert’s song “Settling Down”. how cute are they
