If you’re a fan of dating reality shows, then you’ve probably heard of Love Is Blind. The Netflix series, hosted by husband and wife team Vanessa and Nick Lachey, follows a group of singletons who find love without seeing each other. In Season 2 of the hit series, Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones captivated viewers with their passionate and romantic journey.
Despite having an awkward start to their relationship, which was due to Jarrette’s conflicting feelings for Iyanna and Mallory Zapata, the two ended the series as a married couple. “It definitely feels good that we can take this journey together,” Jarrette told Page Six after the season 2 finale. “I think the biggest challenge we’ve worked on is integrating our lives as one.”
However, on Aug. 17, Iyanna and Jarrette shockingly announced that they were officially quitting.
Iyanna and Jarrette go in different directions
On Aug. 17, Netflix Love Is Blind stars Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced they were divorcing after a brief marriage. “After much deliberation, we are sad to announce that we have separated and will begin the divorce process,” the former lovebirds said in a joint Instagram statement. They then said their lives “went in different directions,” before admitting their decision was hard to make. “We hope that you will all give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives,” they continued. “To the Love Is Blind Family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support.”
In response to the former couple’s post, the show released a statement via Twitter I thank them for “opening their hearts to this experience.” Before their surprise announcement, the couple appeared to be in good spirits about their future. In an interview with People after the season 2 finale, Jarrette revealed they wanted to focus on travel before starting a family. “Just so we can go out as a married couple with no strings attached and no bars and just be ourselves and enjoy our time together,” he added. Iyanna echoed similar sentiments, saying they have plans to move in together as well. Although their marriage has ended, the former couple has assured fans that they “have no regrets!”
Now Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thomspon are the only ones from Love Is Blind season 2 staying together.
