Dating after a divorce can be difficult. Especially when you’ve been married for decades, how is a person supposed to find someone to take their place? That’s the question right now for Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen, whose divorce from basketball legend Scottie Pippen was finalized in December 2021, according to Us Weekly.
The Pippens’ divorce wasn’t official until three years after their actual split, which means Larsa has had at least three years to try and find someone new — if she’s interested. Speaking to reality star “RHONJ” Melissa Gorga on her “On Display” podcast, Larsa admitted that she found the dating scene harder than she initially thought. “I was married to this really famous guy who was really cute, had a good body, who was really successful and gave me four beautiful kids,” Larsa said. “So where the hell are you going to find a guy who can fill in? It doesn’t have to be all of them…but a few of those boxes. It is quite difficult.”
However, Larsa’s prospects aren’t entirely bleak – it turns out she’s found a silver lining.
Larsa Pippen says she’s happier living alone
Larsa Pippen told Melissa Gorga via “On Display” that she needed to have a little come-to-Jesus moment when it comes to the future of her romantic life. “I thought it would be easier to be honest,” Pippen admitted. “And then, as I started dating, I have to realize that I’m not going to get everything. I’ve had a great run, I’ve had a great relationship…you know I was married 23 years.”
When Gorga asked Pippen if she ever regretted the divorce, she said she’d rather be single than unhappy. “I feel like I’m happier alone,” Pippen said. “It’s kind of a mess, but I’m, I’m happier alone.” Pippen explained that relationships can be great, but they’re hard work, and she doesn’t rush to jump right back into another one. “My whole adult life I’ve been like chasing a man, you know what I mean?” Pippen said after years of taking care of someone else, she can just feel good about it now.
Pippen has also opened up about life as a single and opened up about her marriage on “Real Housewives of Miami.” In the Season 4 premiere (via People), she said, “I put so much into my marriage, but it just wouldn’t get any better.” These days, she’s ready for a new chapter. “I’m proud of who I am today.”
