When it comes to Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kanye “Ye” West, it might not necessarily be a quick or easy process, but it certainly seems like a decision that she felt was the right one for her at the time. She told Vogue in February that she realized she used to put the happiness of others ahead of her own. Now she says: “I think over the last two years I’ve decided that I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. And even if that led to changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest. Think about what makes you truly happy. I chose myself I think it’s okay to choose you.”
“Being in my 40s is about being Team Me,” Kardashian added while speaking to Vogue. Granted, the fact that Kardashian is choosing to focus on herself doesn’t mean she’s alone in her romantic life or in regards to her divorce. Not only is Kardashian in a relationship with Pete Davidson, but she also happens to have someone very influential on her legal team. Of course, that seems to be working out well for her, but Ye faces an ongoing issue with his team that has caused another serious snag in the divorce.
Kanye West’s fifth divorce attorney has resigned
When it came time to deal with Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kanye “Ye” West, she enlisted the help of Laura Wasser, according to Us Weekly. As an attorney who has represented other high-profile stars like Angelina Jolie, Kelly Clarkson, and Ryan Reynolds, Kardashian apparently wanted to make sure there was water for her legal needs. That’s certainly why a source told Us in January 2021, “Laura Wasser has been on a salary basis since last summer and is actively working for Kim.”
Ye, on the other hand, has gone through a series of divorce attorneys since his initial split from Kardashian. That number is five because attorney Samantha Spector asked to step aside and a judge granted her request, per TMZ. Although the exact details of what went on behind the scenes are being kept under wraps, Spector noted that things were not working out between her and her client.
While this could be another blow towards a final settlement, the judge overseeing the divorce case appears unwilling to delay things forever, according to TMZ. In fact, Ye has to put things right or by December when a trial could take place. By that time, Wasser will likely have everything set up for Kardashian, and hopefully Ye will have someone to fill in for him.
