Successful Bachelor Nation relationships are few and far between — especially for a franchise that’s meant to be all about love — so fans are always excited to see a relationship between former bachelors and bachelorettes actually work. Fans can also get anxious the longer it takes for their favorites to actually walk down the aisle. Fiancés Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick never met on any official “Bachelor” show, but since they’re both fan-favorite characters in the larger Bachelor Cinematic Universe, most people don’t care how they met. They just want to see these two lovebirds actually tie the knot.
Back in June, Bristowe told Us Weekly that she and Tartick were planning a big, Great Gatsby-themed wedding on New Year’s Eve in New York City. But then, in August, Bristowe told Us Weekly’s Here For The Right Reasons podcast that the planned date didn’t look like it was going to work out after all. Part of the problem, she said, is that so many venues are already booked. “So we’re trying to come up with ideas just because I didn’t know it was going to be that difficult to find a venue or pick a date,” she said.
Apparently, some people took this in such a way that the wedding might not take place.
The wedding wasn’t postponed after all
On her own podcast, On the Vine, Kaitlyn Bristowe invited her fiancé Jason Tartick over so they could both clear up the confusion as a couple. Yes, the wedding is still taking place. No, there is no trouble in paradise. “I really didn’t say our wedding was postponed,” Bristowe said. “I said, ‘We can’t agree on a venue.'” She explained that the couple thought they had found the perfect venue for their date, but it turned out to be a mistake and the venue was already booked eventually.
“‘Postponed’ is a rude comment because nothing was booked,” added Tartick. “It’s not Kaitlyn’s fault. It’s not Jason’s fault. These are two people who have been super, super busy this summer, going at a hundred miles an hour. And if we both take responsibility, which I think we should do, we haven’t made it a priority.”
Well, when you put it that way, it doesn’t sound all that bad. If you really want to break out the tissues, just check out Us Weekly’s overview of this year’s Bachelor Nation split. That is much. One of the most recent “Bachelorette” breakups was season 17 star Katie Thurston, who confirmed her split from John Hersey on her Instagram Story less than a year after she ended her engagement to season winner Blake Moynes would have. Not all loves, including those on TV, are meant to last.
