Is there a feud between Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves?

Taylor Swift is no stranger to feuds. The star has had some tense moments with a handful of other A-listers over the years, perhaps no more than the infamous drama with Kanye West … and then his now-former wife, Kim Kardashian. Of course, how could we forget the rapper’s infamous outburst at the 2009 VMAs, which then erupted again in 2016 when West debuted the song “Famous.” At that point, Kardashian got involved in the action, leaking a phone call between West and Swift after the latter criticized the song as derogatory, while the former hit back, claiming he had her approval to release it. Yes, it was all as dramatic as it sounds folks.

But that’s not all. Swift also had some major tensions with Katy Perry back then, even dropping an entire anthem about their feud. Swift released the song “Bad Blood” about her troubles with the “I Kissed A Girl” singer, after which she responded with “Swish Swish.” They finally buried the hatchet, however, when Perry admitted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, “It was really unfortunate, but we’ve made amends, and I’m all about redemption and forgiveness and setting an example for these younger people.” Giving can be cool to ask for forgiveness and confront someone you have a problem or issue with and talk about it.”

But then what about Kacey Musgraves? Let’s dive into these feud rumors if you’re “…ready for this?”

Kacey Musgraves has been accused of tailing Taylor Swift

Okay, to get to the beginning, let’s throw it back to 2015. The rumors of drama between Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves first surfaced after fans believed she was starring as Swift in her song “Good Ol’ Boys.” Shadow Club” over the line “Another gear in a big machine doesn’t sound like fun to me.” Swift was signed to Big Machine at the time, though Musgraves denied to Fader that it was about Swift.

But four years later, the rumor mill churned again when Musgraves was accused of liking a viral dodgy tweet about Swift, in which many accused the country star of disrespecting the “22” hitmaker. That tweet came from Kid Rock and read: “Taylor Swift wants to be a Democrat because she wants to be in movies… period. And it looks like she’s sucking off Hollyweird’s doorknob to get there. Good luck girls.” Swift’s fans were in an uproar after allegedly seeing Musgraves like the news, though she claimed to have Twitter Her account was hacked and wasn’t even online that day. Not everyone was convinced, however, as the “High Horse” singer’s account apparently only liked it, before then seemingly disliking it after being called out. A lot called she outwith some suggesting that Musgraves may have been “jealous” of Swift.

But do Swifties need to “shrug off” when it comes to this drama?

Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift spoke out about the backlash

Kacey Musgraves took to Twitter again a few days after the Kid Rock tweet drama and revealed that she had worked things out with Taylor Swift and it was all a big misunderstanding. The star exhibited a statement, writing, “I was drawn to it because I’m so liberal and anyone who knows me knows how open I am about equality and respect. I connected with Taylor – she knows I do NOT feel that way and we’re cool. That was a manipulated image (I don’t even follow Kid Rock), and I would NEVER support a message that promotes such misogyny.” Swift actually liked that tweet, so things seem to be good between the two.

But the same cannot be said of all Swift fans. while a few supports Musgraves’ explanation, others continued to call out the star, with one noting that she was among a string of celebrities who liked a controversial post from Swift’s former manager Scooter Braun’s wife amid the drama surrounding Swift’s music catalog. “Glad you connected to Sister Taylor but you also enjoyed Scooter’s wife’s IG post where she dragged Taylor to hell and it wasn’t okay. Was that also a ‘manipulated image’?” a fan tweeted, partially. “I am so disappointed.”

It seemed like the Swifties weren’t over it in 2021 either, since, per Things, they trended Musgraves on Twitter on her birthday by reminiscing about their previous shady incidents with Swift. “Bad Blood”, anyone?
