How wealthy Paul completely changed Adele’s relationship with the public

Adele has been serenading the public for over a decade. As Billboard summarizes, her debut album was released when she was just 19 – an age that was amazing given her talent and also served as inspiration for the album’s name. She has continued to put out hit albums like 21, 25 and 30 that have broken records, won Grammys and served as a literal timeline of the artist’s impressive career.

No wonder Adele, at 34, is ready for a break from the spotlight. In a Sirius XM interview with John Mayer, the singer shared that she doesn’t usually like touring and that she may not release another album “like eight years”.

Luckily for Adele fans, however, she doesn’t seem to have completely retired from the public eye. Despite her busy schedule, Adele is often spotted at public events, and Buzzfeed notes her tendency to go viral sitting courtside at basketball games. As it turns out, we might have to thank her new boyfriend, Rich Paul, for her willingness to stay in the public eye after all these years.

Rich Paul encouraged Adele to take it easy

Throughout her career, Adele has been notoriously private. In an interview on BBC’s Desert Island Discs, she shared that this reticence was there before she found fame, but media attention can often reinforce the urge to hide. “Sometimes I feel like I’m refueled [the public attention] I’ve been such a recluse in the past,” she shared. “Because sometimes it went on for two years and I wasn’t seen.”

Going through a divorce in public couldn’t have made things any easier. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey (via Entertainment Tonight), Adele shared that she struggled to tell the truth to her personal friends and was embarrassed that she couldn’t make the relationship with Simon Konecki work.

Luckily, her latest romance seems to be helping with the heartbreak and her relationship with fame. In July 2021, Page Six confirmed that Adele is dating Lebron James’ agent Rich Paul. Perhaps Paul’s experience working with superstars was able to offer some pertinent advice. “He says, ‘If you want to go to this restaurant, you should try the food in this restaurant, and if you want to go to this birthday party, then you should go. You can’t miss these things, what’s the worst that could happen?'” she told the BBC. With Adele now ready to attend, many birthday parties have become a lot happier.
