How Jessica Biel really feels about NSYNC

Jessica Biel doesn’t hold back when it comes to how she really feels about NSYNC. And although the actress has been in a relationship with Justin Timberlake — the boy band’s former lead singer — for more than a decade, that hasn’t stopped her from being brutally honest.

Biel and Timberlake first started dating in 2007 and spent four years in an on-and-off relationship before officially tying the knot in October 2012, according to Parade. The couple prepares to celebrate a big milestone as they fast approach their 10-year wedding anniversary and the couple couldn’t be happier.

“Sometimes I feel like 10 years has just flown by, and sometimes I’m like, ‘Oh my god, 10 years, that’s a really significant amount in a person’s life,'” Biel told Access Hollywood. “I’m just very proud of it.” Meanwhile, the “Sexyback” singer is just enjoying being married to his soulmate. “It’s nice to marry your best friend,” he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (via Us Weekly). “It fits me.”

But just because Biel is head over heels in love with her husband doesn’t necessarily mean she has to be passionate about his music.

Jessica Biel is not a fan of NSYNC

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jessica Biel admitted that she was never really a fan of NSYNC. With this shocking admission, Fallon shared a rare interview with Biel in which she shared her thoughts on the band. “To be honest, I don’t really listen … I mean, of course I know them, and I’ve heard of them, and I’ve heard the music, [but] I don’t really think I own any of her CDs,” Biel said in a 1999 clip. “I’m not a huge fan … but I mean, cool I guess.” In her defense, the actress added that she wasn’t into the Backstreet Boys or pop culture music.

Fallon insisted the “Candy” star must be familiar with a few NSYNC songs by now, considering she’s been with Justin Timberlake for the last 15 years. However, the truth is – it doesn’t. Biel opened up about the time she was playing truth or dare with some friends and was asked to sing an NSYNC song but couldn’t. “I only know three words: ‘Bye, bye, bye’, that’s probably three times one word. But I wasn’t allowed to sing that.”

NSYNC formed the band in 1995 and shortly thereafter they became a worldwide teen hit sensation, according to PopSugar. But while the boys lived their dream, Biel focused on becoming a star himself.

NSYNC and Jessica Biel were a hit in the ’90s

NSYNC had the era of the 90’s under control. The band — which consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass — was responsible for hits like “Bye Bye Bye,” “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” and “This I Promise You,” to name a few. Her album It’s Going to Be Me also reached #1 on the Billboard chart and stayed at the top for two weeks. “When you’re a kid and things like this happen, and it happens so quickly, you can’t help but feel like something great happened to you,” Timberlake told NPR.

While the band was releasing chart-topping acts and touring around the world, Jessica Biel wasn’t like most teenagers who hung NSYNC posters on their walls. In fact, she was busy making a name for herself. During the boy band craze, the actor was just breaking into Hollywood, starring in several films including I’ll be Home for Christmas, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Summer Catch with IMDb. However, after landing a role on the series 7th Heaven, Biel took over the big screen in the late ’90s to mid-2000s. “It feels weird and intrusive,” she told the Independent. “It’s just a job and it’s a great job and it has incredible benefits.”

So it’s fair to say that Biel just didn’t have time to get bogged down in NSYNC songs because she too was a force in the ’90s.
