Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck may not be together anymore, but they still have plenty of connections as they share three children — daughters Violet and Seraphina Affleck and son Samuel Affleck. As fans know, Ben and Garner split in 2015 after 10 years of marriage, breaking hearts across Hollywood. Three years later, in 2018, the couple finally gave up and finalized the divorce. Ben has famously rekindled his romance with ex-fiancé Jennifer Lopez, and the pair have made headline after headline thanks to their red-hot romance.
Since Ben and Garner split, they have still been photographed numerous times while continuing to co-parent their three children. The couple even attended their kids’ soccer game together in 2019 and were all smiling, according to Metro. In 2021, Garner spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about her co-parenting relationship with Ben. “Going through it in public isn’t the hard part; going through it is the hard part,” Garner told the outlet. However, she knows the future is bright. “When our kids get married, we’re going to dance, I know that now,” she confessed. “We’re going to boogaloo and have a great time. I don’t worry about that anymore.” Following their split, Ben Garner also called the “greatest mom in the world,” according to People. how cute is that
And while the famous couple is (for the most part) united front, there was a highly publicized incident involving son Samuel Affleck and father Ben that left Garner quite upset.
Jennifer Garner isn’t happy about Samuel’s car accident
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck seem to have a good relationship as parents, but that doesn’t mean things are always perfect. After the former couple’s 10-year-old son, Samuel Affleck, drove a Lamborghini Urus into a BMW (per Us Weekly), Garner wasn’t too pleased with what turned out. “Jen wasn’t happy to find out Ben was letting her son drive, especially given that he was driving a sports car indoors, of all things,” a source told Hollywood Life. The insider added, “She knows how dangerous that was and she knows things could have gone very badly, so she’s beyond grateful no one was hurt.”
At the time of the accident, Jennifer Lopez was also with Ben and Samuel, but luckily there was no bad blood between the two ladies. The same source says Garner doesn’t blame her “at all because Ben should have known better.” At the end of the day, Ben has “profusely apologized” for the incident and Garner just hopes everyone learned a valuable lesson.
A co-worker opens up about Affleck’s viral family moment
Sources aren’t the only ones reacting to the viral parenting moment. According to the New York Post, an employee at dealership 777 Exotic shared how things went. “When [Samuel] got in the car, it jerked back and forth,” he told the outlet. At the time, Samuel was behind the wheel of a flashy yellow Lamborghini Urus, which comes with a fairly high rental price of $1,475 for a single day. If you wanted to buy the car right away, it would cost you $250,000.
Fortunately, while Affleck and Garner have the money to rent or buy a car of this caliber, they didn’t have to go down that route as the cars were not damaged. Since everything turned out well, the day wasn’t ruined. “They seemed happy and kept browsing,” the clerk shared, noting that the father-son couple would be welcome back.
