Of all the things Harry Styles might have expected a fan to toss onstage during his show — bras, hotel keys, maybe even a rotten tomato — we’re guessing someone’s cold leftovers weren’t among them. But, for what he is, Styles handled the bizarre interruption with aplomb during an Aug. 27 performance at Madison Square Garden.
The former One Directioner is in the middle of a 15-day residency with MSG as part of his 2022 Tour: Love On Tour, which runs from August 20th to September 15th. The show, which promotes his new album Harry’s House, has already sold out and deserves rave reviews. Page Six called him “the greatest showman.” Part of being a great showman is the ability to deal with unexpected crowd interruptions – like having a viewer sing a few bars of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” to propose to his girlfriend during a show in Lisbon, Portugal, according to Harper’s Bazaar.
But this break in New York City was less sweet and more, well, savory.
A fan threw a chicken nugget onto the stage
To be honest, we’re not sure why a person would throw something while an artist is performing, but throwing cold chicken nuggets seems like a particularly odd choice. And yet, cold chicken nuggets are exactly what Harry Styles found thrown on stage mid-performance. “Interesting, very interesting approach,” Styles joked in a video posted to Twitter. “Who threw the chicken nugget?” The singer told the viewer he doesn’t eat meat and threw it back, joking: “First off, that’s cold and I assume it’s very old. Do you want it back? Why? Don’t eat!” He continued, shouting, “Now it’s on the floor! Don’t look for it, we’ll get you another nugget.”

Despite all the internet drama surrounding Style’s new film, Don’t Worry Darling, the former One Direction member has good reason to be happy, even when people are throwing chicken nuggets at him. According to Billboard, his single “As It Was” is back at number one in its eleventh week. And his shows are doing so well that he’s adding additional tour dates. Maybe more chicken nuggets to come.
