Heather Gay tells fans at BravoCon 2022 where she really stands with Jen Shah

Heather Gay and Jen Shah’s relationship has been a real rollercoaster ride for the stars of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. In a 2021 episode of the show, Gay said she felt like Shah took their friendship for granted — and that if she looked at their contentious relationship from the outside, she’d tell herself to cut Shah out of her life daily dish.

But in the show’s final episodes, viewers watched as Gay and the other housewives tried to support Shah during a girls’ trip to Arizona. But a looming lawsuit and a fair amount of bickering prevented Shah from fully enjoying himself. “I’m fighting for my life and my freedom, but you’re all fighting for court jazz ticket seats,” she said on the Oct. 12 episode of “RHOSLC,” per The Salt Lake Tribune. As many viewers know, Shah was later arrested by the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and charged with fraud.

Shah is pleading guilty to one charge, and Page Six reported that her sentencing hearing has been postponed to December 15, 2022. Now that Shah is facing jail time for sparing unsuspecting victims through a telemarketing scheme, is Gay ever by her side as a friend? At BravoCon 2022, the Bad Mormon writer revealed where she and Shah currently stand.

Heather Gay and Jen Shah are still BFFs

During the “Right the Relationship” panel at BravoCon, which took place on October 14, a fan asked Heather Gay if she and Jen Shah were still in touch. According to a reporter from The List, Gay revealed that she had just spoken to Shah that morning. “I still love her,” she said, describing their relationship as “ride or die.”

Appearing on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast in September, Gay said she also plans to keep in touch with Shah while she’s serving her time. “Listen, I’ve had prison friends before,” she joked. “I know the whole routine!” According to Good Morning America, the maximum sentence Shah faces is 14 years behind bars, along with millions of dollars in damages.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Gay explained why Gay thinks her friendship with her RHOSLC co-star is worth fighting for – and it all hinges on Shah’s unique personality. “As much as you think you know her and can predict or judge or rate her based on the show, it’s a tenth of the charisma, magnetism, star power and energy force that she is,” Gay said. And while Shah is doing her part in stirring up the drama on the show, Gay insists she’s never hung out with anyone who’s as fun to be with as her best friend.
