If you were filming sex scenes with Sam Asghari, then-boyfriend of Britney Spears, at the height of the Free Britney movement, when the pop icon was still under her tutelage, you wouldn’t be tempted to ask a few questions about the get insider information? Of course you would! But would you really have the courage to invade their relationship? It’s certainly a difficult question.
But that’s the question Casey Wilson had to ask herself as she filmed some hot and raunchy scenes with Asghari on Showtime’s Black Monday. Wilson went to SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show and opened up about her dilemma. “Sometimes God puts you in a time and place,” Wilson joked. “You are the chosen one. Someone needs to simulate sex with this man in the middle of what’s happening with Free Britney. And I was.” Describing the overall experience as “wild,” Wilson said, “We really love Britney and we desperately wanted her to be set free.” But did she end up looking for that inside information?
Casey Wilson wanted to keep things “reasonable.”
Fortunately — or unfortunately, depending on your point of view — Casey Wilson and the rest of the cast and crew were able to stick together on set and not ask Sam Asghari about the whole Britney Spears thing. “We just wanted to be obviously appropriate and not ask the thousands of questions we had,” Wilson said on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show. “We were like, ‘Let’s pretend we’re aliens who just came to earth. We don’t even know what music is,'” she said. “‘We are not of this world. We’re actors.'” In the end, Wilson and the rest of the team managed to keep their comments about Asghari “appropriate.”
According to The New Yorker, Spears’ conservatory eventually ended in November 2021, meaning the pop star was finally allowed to make his own medical decisions and spend his own money. If you still want behind-the-scenes details (and who doesn’t), all you have to do is buy Spears’ forthcoming memoir, according to The Guardian.
