Florence Pugh and Zach Braff have had us all #RelationshipGoals jealous since they first confirmed their romance. The two kept us guessing for a while, especially while working together on the short film In the Time It Takes to Get There, but the game was really given away in April 2019 when E! News shared snaps of the duo holding hands as they strolled through New York City together. How romantic! Then came what appeared to be Braff’s official endorsement when he shared a snap of Pugh with some of his friends on Instagram the following October, writing in the caption, “People I Love.” Adorable!
The two eventually became more comfortable addressing their relationship head-on, with Pugh even clapping back at those who criticized their 21-year age difference on Instagram. The star shared a video explaining that she had to turn off comments on an Instagram post she shared in honor of Braff’s birthday because of the offensive messages she received in reply. “I am 24 years old. You don’t have to tell me who to love and who not to love, and I would never in my life tell anyone who to love and who not to. It’s none of your business,” she hit back. you go girl
But sadly, the couple we love had some bad news to share with fans.
Florence Pugh and Zach Braff split
It’s officially over for Florence Pugh and Zach Braff, with the former confirming their split to Harper’s Bazaar in a September cover story. The ‘Little Women’ actress explained that she and the ‘Scrubs’ star had secretly split a while ago, but decided to do it privately because their relationship was attracting so much attention. “We just felt like something like this would really benefit us if millions of people didn’t tell us how lucky they are that we’re not together. So we did. I automatically get a lump in my throat just talking about it,” she said. Pugh then ranted about the intense interest in her personal life, explaining, “I don’t think that just because they have this job, people watch every aspect of their lives and should write about it. We didn’t sign on for a reality show.”
Braff does not appear to have commented publicly on the split, which Pugh confirmed took place in early 2022, though the two were absent from each other’s social media accounts for a while prior to the confirmation. Pugh appears to have left Braff’s grid as of June 2021, when he shared a painting of her “Black Widow” character. As for the Pugh, she hasn’t had a snap of Braff on her Instagram grid since she celebrated his birthday in April 2021.
Fans first speculated in May that Pugh and Braff might have ended it after she was spotted in Ibiza with Will Poulter.
