Doja Cat has been the subject of controversy and scrutiny since she burst onto the music scene in 2018. Per Vulture, Cat has been accused of racism and homophobia. She has confessed to social media trolling, and Cat’s bizarre tweets are legendary. It seems like she’s had arguments with almost everyone at some point. According to The US Sun, she is involved with Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. And Cat’s popularity took a big hit after she accused Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp of acting like a snake and doing “like, weasel-s**t” (via The Cut).
The rapper also has a unique style, she loves to mix it up and people either love it or hate it. Cat told Billboard that she was 9 years old when she fell in love with fashion and started causing clothing controversy. “I would get in trouble for shit I would wear to school,” she said. InStyle called Cat “a futuristic fashion alien.” They praised their “over-the-top, out of this world” style and for dressing “woman-positive.” Fashion bible Vogue praised Cat’s ability to “deliver some scene-stealing style moments” with her couture picks, quirky makeup and accessories.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail slammed Cat’s choice of the black and white striped crop top and flared pants she wore to the 2021 Billboard Awards red carpet. The tabloid accused Cat of “looking like a character straight out of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice” and gave her the title of “worst dressed.” Well get ready everyone; Doja Cat’s live makeover is her boldest look yet.
Doja Cat dares to bare it all
It’s safe to say that Doja Cat isn’t afraid to experiment with fashion, hair and makeup. Cat’s style changes have turned heads over the years, but her latest live makeover is her boldest look yet. Page Six reported that the singer is now boldly bald after shaving all of her hair and her eyebrows. She documented the entire process in an Instagram live video. “I just can’t believe it took me so long to say, ‘Shave your frigging head,'” Cat said. “I feel like I should never have hair anyway,” she later admitted. “I don’t like having hair.”
The No Jumper Podcast shared part of the makeover masterpiece Twitter. Cat started by admitting that her makeup artist just texted and freaked out when they heard she was going to shave her eyebrows. “I’ll do it,” Cat announced, dotting her brows with shaving cream. True to her word, while patting her stinging eyes with a tissue while cream dripped down, she grabbed a razor and took off these bad boys.
Cat previously opened up about her battle with body dysmorphia. She said it affects how she sees her looks and she’s never really comfortable with her looks. “It started in my teens, which is where I think it starts for a lot of people,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I started to really grow tall, and I never really thought I looked good in a lot of the clothes I wore.”
