Erika Jayne’s legal troubles were a major storyline in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Last summer, Jayne was sued for $25 million over her estranged husband Tom Girardi’s illicit dealings, which lasted for over a decade, according to TMZ. Jayne insists she was unaware of her husband’s financial troubles at the time. According to the Daily Mail, Girardi was diagnosed with dementia and placed in a conservatory as a result. Although Jayne filed for a divorce from Girardi in 2020, she eventually decided to remain married to him to avoid paying him child support, according to Page Six.
Although Jayne denied any involvement in the illegal operation, she was still named in multiple court cases. One even claimed she was “the frontwoman of the operation,” per E! News. According to the Daily Mail, Girardi has been accused of withholding settlement funds to be distributed to family members of victims killed in a tragic plane crash on Lion Air Flight 610 in 2018.
Jayne suggested that the victims’ families may have lied and were actually paid by Girardi during an episode of “RHOBH” (via the Daily Mail). When asked if she thinks the families are actually lying, she replied, “There’s a chance. We still don’t have all the facts, so I keep saying this is not done. It doesn’t matter what happens anyone says.” Despite Jayne’s thoughts on the subject, new “RHOBH” star Diana Jenkins makes it clear where she stands.
Diana Jenkins doesn’t side with Erika Jayne
Diana Jenkins may have just joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but she’s making some bold moves. Housewife Erika Jayne has recently faced serious legal troubles, but Jenkins is siding with the alleged victims on the other side of the lawsuit. Jenkins announced in a press release she shared on Instagram that she had donated $100,000 to the immediate family of those killed in the 2018 Lion Air 610 flight crash. All 189 people on board died after the plane went into the ocean, according to insiders, and settlement funds were allegedly improperly distributed to the victims’ families due to Tom Girardi’s illegal dealings. Jenkins was apparently unaware of the tragedy until it became a topic of conversation on the Bravo series.
“I have so much compassion for the widows and orphans left behind. I know the pain and suffering that comes with the loss of a family member as I lost my brother in the final days of the Bosnian War,” Jenkins said. “I want to do what I can to support the people who have suffered so much.”
The upcoming episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will focus on Erika Jayne’s legal troubles, which made the timing of Jenkins’ big donation a little suspicious to some.
