Britney Spears gives her most vulnerable take on drama with her sons yet

Aside from escaping her infamous 13-year conservatory, getting married and suffering a loss trying to father her third child, American pop princess Britney Spears has recently made headlines for her growing family feud.

The “Toxic” singer, whose parents and siblings weren’t invited to her June wedding to longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari, was the subject of an information bomb dropped by her ex-husband and father of her two teenage sons, Kevin Federline .

In the Aug. 6 Daily Mail interview, Federline said her children, 16-year-old Sean Preston and 15-year-old Jayden, have virtually stopped all contact with Spears, largely due to her provocative and bizarre behavior on social media. Neither son attended their wedding, and while it was initially unclear why, Jayden recently revealed it was because he and Preston would not have felt comfortable there without his extended family. Spears is now responding publicly to the drama involving her sons — and she’s making it clear once again that she’s not afraid to show her vulnerable side.

Britney Spears feels like she’s out of purpose

A few days before her sons’ birthdays (Seans is September 14th, Jayden’s is 12th), Britney Spears posted a series of audio clips to Instagram to share her thoughts on the latest drama with them. “If it’s the dumbest thing in the world [to] share my thoughts on my Instagram,” she began, “so be it. Because I honestly feel like it’s helping me.”

Spears said of her sons, “Since they’ve been gone, I’ve honestly felt like a big part of me has died,” and recalled being the primary caregiver for both at ages six and nine. As fans will recall, she and Kevin Federline divorced when the kids were babies. “I literally have no purpose anymore. They were my joy, they were my everything. I was looking forward to seeing her, that’s what I lived for. And then suddenly they were gone. And I was like, ‘Did my heart just stop?’” Spears added that she was particularly hurt by her sons’ willingness to leave her and spend time with their father. “I don’t understand how it’s so easy for them to just cut me off like that,” she said.

While these troubling thoughts come amid an escalating feud with her parents, who have publicly wished her “go to hell” on more than one occasion, Spears wished her sons the best in her most recent post, saying, “I adore you…You guys are incredible.” Happy early birthday.”
