Britney Spears has seemingly moved on with her life after completing her 13-year conservatorship. However, Britney’s relationship with her family remains controversial. The “…Baby One More Time” singer married longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari on June 9 in front of guests including Madonna, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore. However, Britney’s relatives were conspicuously absent from the guest list. Her parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, and her siblings, Bryan Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears, were reportedly not invited to celebrate Britney’s wedding.
Despite not being welcome at her daughter’s wedding, Lynne recently shared a happy birthday with Britney. “I just want her to be happy,” Lynne said in a recent meeting with TMZ. She also confirmed that her comment on Britney’s Instagram, where she expressed how she was “sooo happy” for her daughter, was real. And while Lynne seems open to reconciling her broken relationship with the pop singer, Britney seems far less lenient.
Britney Spears throws shadows at her mother
Britney Spears doesn’t seem to have gotten over the drama with her family and has shot down an apparent attempt by her mother, Lynne Spears, to repair their relationship. Taking to Instagram to share an adorable video of herself and husband Sam Asghari, Britney also responded to Lynne’s well wishes. “Am I lucky enough mom,” Britney wrote. “Why the serious talk??? Light up ladies…we’re on the same page…remember???” And while Lynne isn’t currently following Britney, Page Six reported that she liked Britney’s post.
Lynne isn’t the only family member caught in a debacle over her marriage to Britney. The singer also dragged her older brother, Bryan Spears, after he claimed he was invited to her ceremony. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Britney confirmed that Bryan was never welcomed into her home. “You were never invited to my wedding,” she wrote via E! News. “Do you really think I want my brother there who told me no to jack and coke for 4 years???”
