Britney Spears’ career comeback is reportedly in the works

The past 12 months have been a whirlwind one for Britney Spears. She had to experience once again what freedom tastes like when she managed to pull the plug on her almost 14-year conservatorship in November. While she’s since been enjoying some of the little things in life — like speaking her mind — she’s also taken some big steps in her personal life.

She and longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari got engaged in September 2021 and tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony this June. As if that wasn’t enough, Spears also made a big change in her life by moving to a new home. She wrote on her Instagram account in February, “I’ve lived in this house for seven years and I’m in the process of buying a new home… It’s time for a change!”

Well, a change is definitely on the horizon for Spears (and in a good way) as there’s another report suggesting her career comeback is apparently in the works as well.

Britney Spears recorded a duet with Elton John

Hearing that Britney Spears is planning a comeback is always big news, but hearing that she’s working on a new duet with Elton John is even bigger. According to Page Six, the “Toxic” singer is working with John on a new version of his hit “Tiny Dancer.”

Apparently, the pair worked on the track earlier this month at a Beverly Hills recording studio. Additionally, the song should also hit the airwaves sometime in August. A source close to the situation even said: “They say this will be the song of the summer. Britney is officially back. She’s back at work and she’s super excited.”

The fact that Spears and Elton are working together shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone considering they’ve been friends for a very long time, according to Bustle. According to TMZ, they both lived in the Palazzo Suite during their Las Vegas residencies, and Spears has always been on the invite list for his star-studded Oscar after parties. So if you want to make a comeback, you might as well do it with someone like Rocketman, right?
