Anne Heche’s ex-husband Coley Laffoon shares vulnerable video of her death

Anne Heche’s former husband has spoken openly about her death after it was confirmed the actor died on August 12, having been put into a coma after a horrific car accident a few days earlier. Heche passed away at the age of 53, with People confirming the sad news with a statement from her representative, announcing the star is still on life support to donate her organs.

News of her death came after Heche’s spokesman told People on August 11 that she would not be pulling through after the tragic accident. “Unfortunately, as a result of her accident, Anne suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and is in a critical condition in a coma,” her rep confirmed, referring to the star’s horrific car accident in which she crashed into a house. TMZ reported that the star was actually involved in two accidents involving her vehicle on that fateful day, with the final, fatal incident leaving her car on fire. Sources later claimed to TMZ that Heche was allegedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the accidents, although the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to People after Heche’s death that the accident was no longer under investigation because of her death.

Of course, the last few days of Heche’s life have been extremely difficult for those who knew her, and Coleman “Coley” Laffoon opens up about how the star’s loved ones really fared.

The Laffoon family’s tribute to Anne Heche

Coleman “Coley” Laffoon took to Instagram on Aug. 12 to share how his son Homer was coping with the tragedy of his mother Anne Heche’s death. “He is strong and will be fine. And for all the people reaching out, thank you. It’s hard for me, it’s hard for our family, it’s hard for Homer but we have each other and we have a lot of support and we’re going to be fine,” Coley shared, noting that he thinks Heche is free now from her demons. He also shared sweet words for his former wife, telling his followers: “She was brave and fearless, loved really dearly and was never afraid to let us know what she thinks and what she believes in,” before sharing a touching farewell message to his son’s mother.

Heche clearly had a great relationship with her former husband and his family, as Coley’s wife Alexi Laffoon and their daughter Emmylou also paid tribute to the late actor. Alexi shared a photo of a card Emmylou made for Homer’s mother on Instagram, revealing in the caption how she and Heche bonded over being mothers, as Heche always supported her as Homer’s stepmother.
