Angelina Jolie’s lawsuit against Brad Pitt goes to the next level

The true War of the Roses rages on as Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) continue to battle it out. The couple, formerly known as Brangelina, have been publicly battling court and public opinion since their shock split in 2016. “I don’t want to say much about it [the breakup] except that it was a very difficult time,” Jolie told BBC World News. “We are family and we will always be family and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it.”

However, the family unit quickly disintegrated as the exes fought tooth and nail for custody of their six children and the mudslinging began. Per TMZ, Jolie slammed Pitt with divorce papers, alleging substance abuse and uncontrollable outbursts of anger. Entertainment Weekly reports that the catalyst was Pitt, who was allegedly involved in an alcohol-fueled physical altercation with her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt during a tumultuous cross-country flight. The alleged incident led to the FBI and child welfare services launching an investigation. However, they acquitted Pitt of criminal charges.

But the drama surrounding Pitt and Jolie’s never-ending divorce continues. According to ET, the sparring spouses were legally singled out in 2019, while attorneys continue to work to reach an amicable custody agreement and financial settlement. But just when you think it could almost all be over, Jolie takes her legal battle with Pitt to the next level. Namaste. The actress is covered in Buddhist tattoos, but she doesn’t have a kshama for her ex.

Like most aspects of their divorce proceedings, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Chateau Mirabelle feud was long, contentious, and confusing. Aside from their bitter custody battle, the French winery is one of the biggest bones of contention between the feuding exes. Pitt has reportedly taken to the country road with Jolie over her legal drama. However, according to her, he also took shady moves to steal her stake in her vino company.

The Wall Street Journal reported in 2021 that Jolie had sold her stake in the vineyard to a third party. Four months later, Page Six reported that Pitt was suing Jolie over the sale. He insisted she was contractually bound to give him a right of refusal before selling her stake to an outside interest. Now Jolie is backing Pitt over the vineyard, claiming he stole it from her “in retaliation” for their split, reports Page Six. She demands $250 million from him, which would buy a lot of Two Buck Chuck.

Jolie claims Pitt and his co-conspirators nefariously stole the winery from her to ensure she never saw a penny of the proceeds. She also claims Pitt used her shares to force her to keep her family affairs quiet. If so, then the latter claim has definitely failed. In an interview with The Guardian, Jolie compared “[her] Experience in the States with [her kids]” on human rights violations and the plight of victims of child rape and displaced persons.
