Angelina Jolie dumps her emotional daughter, Zahara, in college

Obviously, Angelina Jolie is not your average mom for many reasons. As well as being a super-famous movie star, she also has a tremendous philanthropic resume – working with organizations like the United Nations and facilitating aid to children in war zones. But when she’s not busy trying to be an actual superhero, she’s like any parent — ready to burst into tears at the success of her kids.

Jolie previously announced on her Instagram that daughter Zahara will attend Historically Black College and University (HBCU) on July 31. The actress posted a photo of her eldest daughter with some of her classmates. “Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all the new students starting this year,” the proud mom wrote in the caption. “A very special place and honor to have a family member as the new Spelman girl.”

And now the day has come when Jolie leaves her baby girl in her new dorm for the first time.

Angelina Jolie says she’s going to start crying

On Aug. 10, Spelman College vice president of student affairs Darryl Holloman posted to Instagram a couple of mother-daughter photos and a video of Angelina Jolie dropping off her daughter Zahara at Historically Black College and University (HBCU). A voice can be heard in the background asking, “All right, Miss Jolie, can you tell us how it feels?” Jolie replied, laughing, “I’m about to cry!” didn’t start crying so hopefully I can hold it together.” When asked how it feels to officially be a Spelman mom, Jolie said she was “so excited.” Holloman’s Instagram post also included a picture of Jolie and Zahara in their new dorm.

It doesn’t look like Zahara’s dad, Brad Pitt, was a part of it this time, but he’s had his own proud parenting moments recently. “She’s so smart. She’ll thrive even more in college,” he told Vanity Fair. “It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find your own path and pursue your interests. I am so proud.”
