And just like that, Season 2 will reportedly star a familiar face

If you’re a fan of HBO, you’ve probably heard of the hit dramedy Sex and the City. Set in New York City, the series follows the lives of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristen Davis), and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) as they navigate life in their thirties. While the show has been praised for its uncompromising portrayal of sex and female friendships, viewers have also been drawn to “SATC” for its long list of handsome men.

One of the most popular male characters was Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). After making his debut in Season 3, the furniture-loving New Yorker began a relationship with Carrie before eventually leaving the show in Season 4.

Since his departure and a brief appearance in the movie Sex and the City 2, fans have been hoping he will return to the revival series And Just Like That. Corbett teased during a 2021 interview with Page Six that he would appear in “quite a few episodes” of season one. However, in February, creator Michael Patrick King denied Corbett’s involvement in an interview with Deadline. “John Corbett should write personal apology notes. We never said that,” King revealed. Luckily for longtime viewers, it looks like their dreams of reuniting with Carrie and Aidan are finally coming true in And Just Like That.

John Corbett will return as Aidan Shaw

With And Just Like That Season 2 officially on its way, fans have been clamoring for new details about the series. After several months of silence, Deadline reported that fan-favorite character Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) will make his big return in upcoming episodes. It only makes sense since Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is a newly single woman following the tragic death of Mr. Big (Chris Noth) in Season 1. The publication also revealed that Aidan would be part of a multi-part story arc.

While HBO Max and Corbett have both declined to comment, the latter previously expressed interest in reprising his memorable role. In an interview with Glamor in 2021, the “Rebel” star said he would “absolutely” return to the beloved “Sex and the City” universe. “I loved being a part of it,” he told the publication. When asked what his character was up to, Corbett said Aidan would “wear some of the same clothes, work on furniture and drive an old truck.” Counting down the days until we see the furniture maker in Season 2 of And Just Like That!
