Alec Baldwin’s career only got worse

It was an annus horribilis for Alec Baldwin, beginning filming of Rust in October 2021. The tragedy occurred after Baldwin’s prop cannon fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The actor faces a litany of legal battles, including writer director Mamie Mitchell’s lawsuit that’s rife with scathing criticism of Baldwin. There are allegations from police that Baldwin demanded a larger gun to wield on camera, which resulted in the ultimately fatal firearm – an allegation the actor vehemently denies, insisting he was more than satisfied with the size of his gun was satisfied.

Then there was the news of Baldwin’s Instagram Live interview with Woody Allen. The Hollywood director has been the subject of controversy since his marriage to Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of Allen’s longtime partner Mia Farrow. Then his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, went public with allegations that he molested her when she was seven. Allen has consistently maintained his innocence, telling CBS the allegations are “insane.” However, Dylan is sticking to her proclamations, and a recent HBO documentary reignited the scandal.

Some actors boycotted the director following Dylan’s harassment allegations, while others have since expressed regret at continuing to work with him. Baldwin isn’t one of them, however, as he teased his Allen interview in a whispered Instagram video. Baldwin vowed he had no time for “hypocritical” beliefs and had “zero interest” in anyone’s opinion. “I love you, Woody,” he closed the video. Just when you thought it was impossible, Baldwin’s career was only going from bad to worse.

During Alec Baldwin’s interview with Woody Allen on Instagram Live, Allen’s screen froze. Baldwin didn’t realize his microphone and camera were still active, and he took advantage of the supposed downtime to yell at an anonymous employee. “Leonetta! Leonetta! Basta! Las perritas! Basta! Las perritas, suficiente!” Baldwin yelled loudly at The New York Post, demanding that his dogs be calmed down. Twitter was quick to respond with mocking comments, as did Reddit, with an entire thread dedicated to the exchange. “Excuse me! Pepinos! He’s trying to impress Unkie Woody with his Spanish,” one wrote. “I hope [Leonetta] spitting in his coffee,” concluded another.

Baldwin is certainly no stranger to breakouts. He was caught on camera yelling at and even tussling with paparazzi. Per TMZ, he left his then-11-year-old daughter Ireland a now-infamous angry, scolding voicemail, calling her a “rude, thoughtless little pig” in 2007. Ireland has since made up with her hot-tempered father and frequently poked fun at him.

Baldwin was forced to attend anger management classes in 2019 after pleading guilty to second-degree molestation charges following a furious altercation over a parking space. According to Vanity Fair, Baldwin learned from the class that he’s actually “not that angry.” However, that’s perhaps a belief not shared by everyone, especially one of its Spanish-speaking employees.
